A pair of steel French doors opens a room right up. Both glazed leaves swing wide together, and when they close, the frames are so slim the view barely changes.

They suit kitchens, living rooms and courtyards, or the space between two rooms inside the house.

Choose inswing or outswing, add fixed glass either side or above, and set the glazing bars for a classic or a modern look.

Classic or modern

French doors are a traditional design that steel does beautifully. Add more glazing bars for a heritage home, or keep the glass open for a clean, modern line.

Frames come powder coated in black, graphite or Half Tea, or in a heavy-protection 2-pot epoxy in a custom colour.

Glass and glazing options

Our slim W20 profile keeps the frames as fine as possible. For double glazing, the W40 and W50 TB profiles take a minimum 22 mm IGU, with low-E and argon fill if required.

Glass can be toughened, laminated or decorative, such as broad reeded, with safety glass wherever the regulations need it.

From drawings to your door

We draw your doors for approval before anything is made. Manufacturing starts once you approve the final drawings.

12–18 weeks from approval of final drawings, depending on job size and unit types. Timing depends on international shipping of materials.

Standard hardware such as hinges is included; handles and locks are quoted once they’re chosen. We deliver nationwide, and can install smaller jobs.

Questions about steel French doors

We regularly make hinged, pivot, sliding and bifold doors as well as side hung, awning and sliding windows.

External units are restricted to certain sizes for example if the wind zones are above very high. A majority of our units are under 2.7m x 1.2m per sash, however we can accommodate for larger sizes, please contact us for any larger units. Internal units generally don't have the same restrictions.

We can accommodate for a wide variety of single glazed glass, safety glass where it is required by regulations. So that includes toughened, laminated, decorative such as broad reeded or other types. In double glazing we can do any type of combination that you would normally see in other types of joinery such as low E and argon filled if required.

We have a selection of options that we use regularly but until the job hardware is specified, we cannot quote on it. All standard items such as hinges, rollers and tracks are included.

Our lead times vary depending on the workload and time of year. Please call us to get a more accurate timeframe but generally it is 12–18 weeks from approval of your final drawings (when manufacturing starts), depending on job size and unit types.Timing depends on international shipping of materials.
